New paper in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience

New paper from Dr. Kyle Nash showing social media approval reduces distress for people high in narcissism. Following social exclusion, participants high in narcissism who posted a “Selfie” and ostensibly received a significant number of real ‘likes’ demonstrated a decrease in P3 mean amplitude, relative to participants who did not receive many ‘likes’. These results suggest that approval via social media can help certain kinds of narcissists alleviate distress from social exclusion.
